I have two ECUs, and I THINK one is for an auto and one for a manual. What would happen if I were running an auto programmed ECU on a manual vehicle? Is there a way to positively identify them?
The engine was pulled from a '94 Camaro/Firebird (auto). I have a standalone harness made by Fuel Injection Specialties (http://fuelinjection.com/).
The ECU that came with the engine (so I assume it's for an auto) has this on the label:
SERV. NO 16184737 BKWW
< barcode >
*86BKWWK341272411*
< perforation >
16203281 BKWW
< barcode >
*86BKWWK341272411*
The other ECU, which I think I got off eBay and was auctioned as a manual unit has this label:
SERV. NO. 16196742 BPCN
< barcode >
*86BPCNK343430292*
< perforation >
