  • 730 ECM How do you wire it to run the TGP chip

I've heard of some using the 730 ECM to run a turbocharged application.
In the process of trying to do a bench test of the 730 ECM using the Turbo Grand Prix binary, so that I could connect to the ECM with my Moates APU-1 I noticed that each plug on the 727 ECM has about 22 terminals resulting in a total of more terminals than the 730 ECM and I can't match all of the terminals between the two ECMs for properly connecting power and input for the sensors.

The bench setup is to make sure I connect everything properly by seeing a signal from each sensor in TunerPro when it is connected.

I think all you need to worry about is wastegate control.... Manual boost controller and you're fine. TGP chip has "boost lag" built into it, which can be eliminated with an MBC.

I just plugged in my tgp chip and away I went, I didn't have to swap any wires around.

    This is a 1991 7730 from a J-body.

If you are that concerend about it, get a 7727 and call it a day.

The 730 makes for a cleaner swop since it has the same style plugs as the Fiero. I have a couple of each 727,730,749. I was told to wire the 730 using the Beretta 3.1 configuration and I should be able to drop the TGP chip right in. I should be able to tune the lag out of it if that is the case with TunerProRT. I would like to use the built in wastegate system however my external gates don't open until 8psi so I guess it really will not matter much below that although I can install lower pressure springs for a wider range of control.
