Does the EGR mount look like this? http://isaachayes.home.mchsi.com/car/overall.jpg

Im seriously considering this car. Just want to make sure all the bugs are otu if I'm going to drive it 900 miles back... Do you know if rental cars agencys will let you rent a car in one state, and drop it off in another? Like moving trucks do?

No it doesnt look like that egr mount, its like the stock 3100 egr mount how it comes out horizontally just a different design. I've never rented any cars before so I'm not sure how that all works. I've put quite a few miles on it without any problems at all, the clutch is tricky to learn or it jerks you around. I thought there was something wrong but other people that got the clutch say its just a whole different animal to drive. I've gotten it down pretty good now just have to be easy with it. If theres anything else you want or need let me know. I can get video clips of it running, oil pressure and all that if you'd like. I know those are things I like to check before making a final decision.

ok so thats a pre 2000 3400 plenum. How are the tires btw? How is the clutch to drive I mean is it like on/off stall or burn rubber? Where I live we have tons of 45 degree angle hills.... lol

The p/s pump delete, what pulley is used and is it mounted well? What size belt does it take now?

An SGi-5 can correct the speed, sorry got to plug it.

You may need a SGI-8 to convert the tach.

I need 3400 doner vehicle info...Tranny doner as well.

If you are interested in how to get your stock speedo working give me a call at well where else PM me first though.

Yea the clutch is pretty on off, if your really gentle with it you can manage with it, ive burnt rubber with it a few times. The pulley for the ps delete is off a 4cyl car and has one less rib. I'm going to swap a regular ps pump back on for the time being just for the pulley. Why would the tach be off? Its using all the stock 3100 sensors, seems dead on to me.

If it dead on tach it out with a scan tool or dyno for sure if not then a guess will do if not picky.

Tachs have been and always will be coil triggered on a open end negetive ground from a coil however depending on the ignition and operating program or system this may be averaged differently.

Example LS1's fire like a 4 cylinder 2 block learn, where most SBC fire like a 8 cylinder 4 block learn.

I would rather a PM to go into detail.

Yea but I'm not seeing what could be different between the 3400 and 3100, its the same block different bore size as far as I know. The 3400 was bare when I got it no sensors pulleys anything, everything electronical and sensor wise came off the old 3100. Am I making sense or am I missing something?

Oh and Isaac, the tires on the front are pretty worn. The rears still have some tread left. I have a set of steelies with good tread if you want them for the trip.

I'm very very serious about this car just got a few more questions about it and I'm in the process of figuring out which way to get up there with out adding tons more to the price.

I have a few more questions and things that would need to be firgured out/sorted out for the drive back. I've sent you a PM with my email address.
