  • Caution-shipments To Canada Members

I have shipped many items to canadian members and they refuse to pay the duties and taxes. So to all of the people that are in the U.S make sure the member on the forum is not some type of bone head. Just a little caution because i have been burned about 50$ dollars becuase of two members

    1.Lyle's GTP
    2.donk_316

Watch out for these members as they screwed me out of the duties and taxes.

Can't you figure out duty and tax before you ship and add it to the cost?

ship post office, that way you don't get dinged for it or brokerage fees. UPS/Fedex will always charge you that crap going out of country. Post office usualy doesn't even charge duties to the receiver.

I've not personally had any problems shipping to Canada. There is one thing that I won't do. I've been asked to mark the packages as "gift" so they wouldn't have to pay much if any taxes and duties. Sorry, I just don't want that turning around one day and biting me in the ass and I end up having to pay them myself.

Whenever I order something from the US I always try to get the package sent USPS. The brokerage fees UPS/FedEx charge are monstrous and can equal the amount the package is worth. It's possible they just didn't have the cash on hand to pay it and had to refuse the shipment.

I don't like USPS for canadian orders because there is no tracking option.

Yup. From me, Canada gets USPS. And of course, I'm a really nice guy, and I'll send "gifts" to my Canadian friends.
