I am selling my other 3500 top end. I intended to hang onto it so I could build another engine later on down the road however I am happy with the way the car performs and don’t see myself putting anymore into the engine. I have been driving my car with the 3500 top end swap for 2 months and have had no problems other than some torque steer from the added power.
The install isn't much more difficult than installing ported 3400 heads and manifolds. More info on my swap can be found at http://60degreev6.com/discussion/vie...?p=77530#77530
The 3500 top end is off of a 05 Malibu that had low mileage. The timing chain failed causing a few of the valves to slightly bend so they were all replaced with a set of 3400 valves. I had the heads checked by the local NAPA machine shop and they confirmed that everything was fine. I still have 6 of the 3500 valves (from the 2 sets of heads that I bought, as I borrowed some for the heads on my car) that will come with the top end set.
The 3500 heads flow as well if not better than most ported heads. On average the 3500 heads flow 5.8% more on the exhaust side and 10.78% more on the intake side as compared to stock 3400 heads. (Lifts from .050” to .500”)
The heads have been cleaned and new stock valve seals have been installed. However I am including the dodge 318 valve seals incase you want to upgrade to LS-1 or LS-6 springs. I will also throw in the new style MAP sensor and harness.
$475 + shipping for the complete 3500 setup, which consists of: Set of 3500 Heads with rocker arms and new valve seals, 3500 Lower Intake Manifold, 3500 Plenum, (6) 3500 valves, Dodge 318 valve seals, New style map sensor and pigtail. (If someone is in or near Indiana I am willing to help with the install) If you would like a camshaft I have one available for an additional $45.
The 3500 setup is the best bang for the buck when adding performance to your car. Most places will charge at minimum $750 for set of heads and $300 for ported manifolds + Core charges, that flow the same if not less.
