i already have the ud alt pulley and i paid $45 shipped for it from ffp but the guy didn't make the wp pulley right so i had to go to another source. b/c i haven't heard from him on another attempt
as it stands it is going to cost me $150 for a 10% ud wp pulley but the guy said if i can get a production run of at least 10, he'd drop it down to 100(maybe less) for more orders. the reason it is high is b/c this place is actually a manufacturer and i think myself fortunate to have talked the guy into to even doing it. same goes for micheal. thanx for hooking me up.
he said he has a computerized machine or something and after the 1st one gets setup the rest will involve alot less labor b/c then he just brings it up. whether any1 else gets in on it or not doesn't mater to me b/c i am getting mine for 100 or 150 regardless in about 2-4 weeks after i finally recover from my engine woes. no biggie there.
only thing is if u want a different ratio expect to pay the $150 then. i am getting 10% for myself maximum is 12% i was told. also you will probably have to grind off that plastic shroud from the timing cover around the wp pulley....maybe not for a 5%.
also i don't know if micheal will sell the alt pullies on a per request basis or not. you'd have to talk to him on that. i a sure he would b/c miney talks ya know . but ud alt pullies are officially out there for the 3.4 dohc in a 10% ud ratio. micheal said he could probably offer a variety of ratios though.
on the wp pullies, they will be through me. we don't necessarily have to have 10 i am sure i can take what i have and get a little break or whatever. just reply if u want in on that and if u want an alt pulley, talk to micheal at ffp.
POWER i am sure that is in the forefront of your minds. not going to get much from the alt 1-2 for a 10% ud wp about 6-8hp i guestimate but combine those numbers with an ud crank pulley at the same time for a set and that will be a pretty impressive afternoon bolt-on. other than the belt, the beauty of ud pullies is they require no tuning. oh, the alt is about 1/3 lighter than original.
lastly, if any1 is willing to pay the setup cost i am sure he can make ud wp pullies for other motors too as long as if has the flat surface. b/c the setup time is the bitch. but i will bargain with him in the future and see what he is willing to do. like other pullies or gears and such. but met me get this out of the way 1st.
