  • f/s billet wp dress up pulley ud??

hey, i had a guy fab me up some pullies. it was supposd to be 10% alt and 10% wp ud ratio. but the machine shop guy messed up a little on the wp pulley.

the ratio ended up being 1-2% if that so it is more a 1:1 dress up pulley than a ud pulley. u might get .5-1 hp from it.

i told him id try to help him get rid of it. i seem to have lost the pic but i will get a new one. it is made of billet aluminum. 6061 i think.

he told me he is $75 negotiable. i will have a pic soon.

edit: it is excellent craftmanship, just too small for my needs. the guy mocked it on an actual dohc motor, so u know it is straight. looks like an impendinf fiero job there.

Do you know if the water pump pulley would work on a 3.1?

    14.60 @ 96.33 for now...

i'll buy them if your machinist can cut grooves into the the water pump pulley matching the belt.

grooves? the wp pulley is a reverse flow, it is spun off of the backside of the belt just like the tensioner.

on the 3.1 i am not sure either, id say measure it i believe the dohc one is around 5 and a 1/2 inches or less. wait, i started a thread about the actual size of the pulley a while back. measure yours and compare it to that and if it matches, give it a shot. and if it is a little bigger it will be ud.

yeah, i just realised that, i'm trying to throw ideas around to taking the a/c compressor out of the loop with out adding another pulley, I don't think theres another way though....

yeah i thought about the same thing too and the only way i can think of w/out a a/c pulley would be an electric waterpump. since there is no "bolt-in" model some1 would have to "engineer" an "in-line" model to fit.

i am however trying to talk the guy into making an a/c delete "bolt-in" kit w/idler pulley of course. can't make any promises though b/c getting him to do the other ud pullies wasn't exacty easy, i am sure will have to pester him for a while to get him to agree to it. but i must get him to agree to try again on the wp pulley 1st.

Isn't that what an a/c pulley is/does when the A/C clutch isn't engaged. I could see the weight reduction advantages. Other then that IMO there would be no gain in HP.

exactly, my a/c is bypassed on my lumi. i have no need for the compressor and lighter is better. plus if i ever get everything straight, it will make the transition into a fiero maybe a little smoother maybe. or if nothing else it will look better

anyway if any1 ever wants the wp pulley just contact micheal at fast foward performance.
