  • Looking for FE3 Rack & Pinion

I am updating the suspension on my Euro I want to put FE3 stage suspension in it.

I already have the FE3 transverse and stabilizer in the rear.

I am looking for a reman rack or decent low mile OEM FE3 ratio rack and pinion.

I am also still on the look out for Luminas that have Garnet red or Maroon with Garnet flake. I need a Drivers Fender and Hood with a decent bumper cover. I don;t care about an exact match. 1991-1993 Luminas apply.

One more thing, I would like to know if anyone has any 16 inch factory Alloys for the Lumina. I only need two rims. I not glamorous I don't care if they have curbage or peeling clear coat.

There are 2 different FE3 racks, and are you also going to replace the front springs and sway bar?

For the front sway bar, you will want one from a car with the 3.4 DOHC.

As for the steering rack, there is a normal FE3 (like I have in my Cutlass and Grand Prix), and a HEAVIER FE3 rack (like waht is used in the Grand Prix's with the body kit)

Also, the front springs might have to be replace. I had to replace the front springs in my Cutlass Supreme to get a true FE3 setup. My front springs were taller, and stiffer, so it made the front of the ca sit about 2 inches higher than an FE3 car.

some Euros if not all already have the "heavy" FE3 rack. Find out how many turns of the steering wheel it takes to go from lock-to-lock and we can go from there.

I will check my VIN and measure the front sway bar diameter. I will have to check the turns on my rack.

I also plan to put a behind the seat stabilzer bar for giggles.

I plan on swapping out the front end suspension with FE3 preferred from a GTP.

Rear sits high right now only because it has tall tires.

if you swap out the front strut assemblies, do NOT use GTP front SPRINGS. Because of the 3.4 DOHC, they are too stiff. Try to find an FE3 car with a 3100. I got my front springs from a 1996 Cutlass Supreme with the 3100 and FE3. The spring codes are FUX.

You can tell which sway bar you have by looking at the end of it.

The small bar will be HOLLOW. The low end FE3 will be SOLID. The HIGH end FE3 will be hollow, but a lot thicker (and it will be mounted with differant brackets. The holes in the ends will be as thick as a pencil, but the small bar will have a hole big enough to get your finger into).

As for the racks, the FE1 rack is like 3 turns lock to lock. The NORMAL FE3 is 2.75 turns. The HEAVY rack is 2.25 turns.

Just so you know. My 1988 Cutlass Supreme does not have an FE ANYTHING. On the sticker, there is NO FEx code. AT ALL.

When I changed out my steering rack, I bought the 2.75 FE3 rack, and it turns out that was what was already in it.
