  • A-Body Wheel Bearings 5 by 115, Free + Ship

    Hi!

The title mostly covered it. I bought a set of A-Body HD front knuckles for my latest project and they came with the wheel bearings. I'll be using S10/Corvette bearings so I'm offering the A-Body bearings up for free. The car, a 93 Cutlass Ciera S, had 100K on it and was Grandma fresh. My zip-code is 06489 if you want to check shipping costs or can pick them up. I'll give it until the 27th and then they go in the dumpster.

Are these ABS or non-ABS? Three speed or four speed?

There is no ABS sensor in the bearing so I'm assuming non-ABS. I didn't look for transmission type. They are definitely 5 lug on 115mm bolt circle. Looks like PN 513016K.

The three and four speed axles have different spline counts...

That's not how the catalog references it. Maybe the 3-speed wasn't available in 93? Maybe the 3-speed only came with light duty brakes?

Either way I'm 98% sure it's got 27 splines. Will count them at lunch time.

            If it's 27, then it's a three speed.

Not that parts catalogs are always right but rockauto claims both the 3-speed and 4-speed have a 27 spline outboard CV shaft.

Bearings up for grabs are definitely for a 27 spline CV shaft.

I apologize for sounding combative, especially when you're literally trying to give these away. I could have sworn the three and four speeds had different spline counts. Maybe that's true of the 94-96, which had the 4T60E, rather than the 440T4.

No offense taken. It's often hard to get to the bottom of these things and any information we can put out there will hopefully help some one. It seems like the number of AEMs that offer meaningful specs on their products diminishes every year.
