  • 3.4L Powered Isuzu Trooper

Anyone want to buy my modified Trooper for hella cheap? $3000 It's just time for me to move on. I've owned the truck since 2002. Basically replaced it with my P38 Range Rover two years ago.

The big thing is the engine, has a 3.4L running on MPFI with a GM 1227727 ECU, runs ok but should be fine-tuned. Swapping injectors back to stock size might bring the tune closer, I put in 24# injectors, stock is 17#. I did modify the tune to account for the increased injector and displacement (base tune was for a 3.1L). Anyway, truck would come with the hardware to datalog and burn chips. I also set up the harness to be converted to MegaSquirt easily.

Quick summary on the rest, in no particular order:
    Stock body and suspension
    Innovate MTX-L Wideband O2 Sensor/Gauge
front and rear aftermarket sway bars
Crane H260-2 cam, comp 1.6 ratio roller rockers, valve springs and timing set
Big brake upgrade w/ SS lines, summit rotors and powerstop pads front and back
    warn manual hubs
Centerforce DF clutch (the larger discontinued Rodeo size)
OEM Limited Slip diff from a newer Trooper
    2" receiver hitch
15" snowflakes with old 31x10.5 BFG A/T, matching spare
I have a full extra set of four snowflakes with way old snow tires mounted
Alpine stereo with nice speakers, amp and sub
Lots of extra engine bits, including all the TBI stuff if that's your thing

    What's wrong with it?:
Droops a little on the right side and pulls a little to the right, maybe it blew a shock or the t-bar is just fatigued
Steering is a little loose and weeps power steering fluid from the box
E-brake sticks, cables need lubricated - I just don't use it...

Some details on the EFI swap.

I don't have a whole lot of newer pictures because I haven't been driving it much in the last few years. Looks like a normal 1990 Trooper, not lifted or anything at a glance that would hint at extensive modifications - other than a 3" exhaust.

Rewired back to MegaSquirt recently, may take it to a dyno shop to get tuned properly. I'd still like to sell it to someone who would appreciate it. Sadly, I just don't have time for it.
