they're just hypereutectic, probably pretty cheap.

Dave, which ones do you recommend ? The search results show 100. I also am looking to get pistons for a boosted set up as well.

3100 pistons would be an improvement over the gen 2.

Just an FYI, I ran the "N/A" 3.1 pistons IIRC they were Federal Mogul, I do recall they were hypereutectic, in my Franken60 build, that had a T3 turbo running between 7 and 9 PSIG boost. When I pulled them out a few years later they still looked new.

If I were do do a similar build over again, I would use gen3 3100 pistons to raise the SCR up to that 9.5:1 or so.

I just want to say thanx for the replies! I actually got a message from my buddy that bought my old JE pistons off me 4 years ago. so I bought them back..

Im having a hard time trying to figure out though whats the difference between the lg5 and lh0 pistons.. Ones from Mahle? the piston that's in my LG5 is nothing like Ive seen before

From my reading the Mahle's that came in TGP's had reinforcing struts and were forged.
All I can remember from putting it together for sure is that is was a Mahle, and had factory sacrificial breakin coating from the factory.
