  • FS: WOT-Tech Camshaft - Grind 1280 N/A Performance

Specs: .323/.337" lobe lift, 212/220 degrees duration @ .050". Factory 1.6:1 roller rocker arms will give a gross valve lift of .517/.539".

Installed in a Malibu, ran for 45 minutes, then developed a noise in the bottom end.
Manufacturer has inspected the cam and verifies it is in mint condition

I bought this for my build, but have since changed direction... I emailed Ben to ask about it, and he said it looked mint when he saw it after it was removed from the Malibu.

Looking for $250 plus shipping OBO...

Not very wild. I ran one for 2 years in my street-driven, slush box Olds Alero. Ported heads, intake manifolds, proper-length pushrods and headers are recommended, but the only real requirement is stronger valve springs. I used Comp Cams 26986 springs.

          Thanks for the tips Matt!
Hope this answers the questions, if someone really wants it make me an offer! Just want it gone at this point to continue with my current projects!

What kind of hp/tq difference did you get?

I really can't say since I never did a pre-cam dyno. I would guess if you just stuck this cam in without ported heads and headers, you'd see a 20-ish hp/20-ish ft-lb bump.

That's bang for buck in my book. I need to research cam profiling and stuff so I can better understand what I want before I make a purchase in the future.

last question.. think this cam would work good with a turbo?

Nope... it is not aggressive enough for a turbo build... it is a mild N/A build as Matt mentioned above... still a good improvement over stock, but definitely meant for N/A... I would love to tell you otherwise to sell it, but I am too honest for that... I want it to go to someone who wants an improvement over stock, not someone who is going for major gains...

                      I want a "lil thumper"

                      Just sounds ridiculous.

I'm fairly local to you (Brantford), I'll take a look at the specs and see if they will work with my turbo plans.

Is this an "off the shelf" grind or custom? I'm trying to find the cam on the store site, but they are not listed with a grind number.

Just as a back ground, I've used "N/A" grinds with turbo quite successfully in the past, there's just a couple considerations I want to make before I could make an offer.

It was WOT's off-the-shelf Stage 3 grind. Gross valve lift with 1.6 rockers is .517"/.539", with 212/220 degrees duration at .050" lift. Pretty sure it is a 112LSA.

Thanks for the added info Matt!

Raven, if you are serious, let me know, and we can work something out... My wife's grandparents are in Brantford, so we could probably meet up fairly quickly... I have Sunday's and Monday's off to get stuff done, so let's make a deal if this will work for you!
