  • 4t65e Shifter Cable

Hey guys, my shifter cable broke on me this morning and I need one asap. Does anybody have one lying around? This is for a 97 Monte Carlo Z34. Thanks in advance.

I thought most of those cables share the same ends across the 3 speeds and all 4 speed fwd GM transmissions? If it wasnt -30 out I'd go looking, but efff that! lol

I don't blame you, lol. Its -11 here, and we have almost two feet of snow, perfect time for your car to break down, right? Go figure, lol. I think they share the same ends, but I'm not sure if the lengths are all the same. I just hope I figure something out soon, I have to drive back to Ohio tomorrow, lol.

Only way around this for a temp work around is to have a second person reach in and click it into drive while you hold down the brakes. Does the parking brake work good? Might be able to not need that helper on hand lol.

The parking brake cable snapped on me a couple weeks ago, lol, so I'm screwed on that one. That and its almost impossible to reach down in there and move the linkage because of the obnoxiously large ABS module in the way.

Wow, that's surprisingly cheap. Everybody else wants $100-125 for one. I'm gonna try to brave the cold and go try to grab one from the pick n' pull. Wish me luck! Lol
