  • For Sale : Badass 3500! (and other parts)

Need to pay off some debt and am forced to sell my baby. I will deliver within a reasonable distance, shipping at the cost of the buyer. Not parting out at this time.

This is a 2004 3500 from a Malibu purchased in 2006. I have the original tag from the salvage yard showing the miles as 678. It wasn't even broken in when i got it. I put 900 miles on it in my Camaro from '09 to last month, Probably 2-3K in my Cavalier from '07-'09. So this engine probably has around 5K miles since it left GM in 2004.

This is the engine that made 275 WHP in my 5 speed Cavalier and 263 WHP in my Automatic Camaro. My best 1/4 mile time was a 13.07 @ 108 MPH in the Cavalier.

Engine is currently set up for RWD but i will include the FWD timing cover and other parts to convert it back to FWD if the buyer wants them.

Bottom end is all stock with the 7484 forged steel crank.
It has new (only a few hundred miles at most) Durabond SBC teflon coated cam bearings
Cam is a custom grind, .539 intake/.549 exhaust. 288in/293ex advertised, 110 LSA. See here for a sound clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mENh9Vyijac
Heads are heavily ported and have Comp 26915 valve springs and Comp hardened retainers.
    Modified lifters with LT1 springs
    Smith Brothers custom pushrods
Genuine GM '99 timing chain and gears
    LIM and UIM are ported
UIM is opened up to 75mm, has a TCE adapter and a LS1 75mm TB (will also come with a N* 75mm if buyer wants it)
3400 fuel rail with a 55 PSI FPR and 33lb/hr Multec 1 injectors and TCE AN rail fittings.
    TCE external crank trigger
Cavalier OBD1 engine harness with a '7730 ECU and a few chips to use depending on what the buyer wants to do with it.

I think $1500 is a fair asking price. It's a good engine, just needs a good home.

    Engine is Sold!

-4000 RPM stall with TCC lockup for a 700R4/4L60(E as well i think), custom built by Revmax converters. Has roughly 200 miles. I'm into it for $500, asking $250+ shipping

    Dave

as in, I put it all back together?

I'd do $4500 and give you quite a few extra parts that i don't have listed. I did cut the ECU harness out so there would be some wiring to re-do for sure.

I drove it into the garage that day, everything was still running great.

Damn.......if it was not for the wiring and the tune I'd put this into my Beretta. Oops and the money, which would take a little time to build up. My 3100 is near death.
Really this engine should go to a race car and not a DD(like mine). Once a dreamer always a dreamer. Now if I just lived closer to 3400mod then.......

It could be daily driven but i agree, it's a little much for that.

I honestly really wanted to put it in a model A or some kind of roadster.

I have a few local guys kicking tires on the Camaro now, hoping for a sale by Friday. Then i can get my parking spot back! haha

Oh man an A would be a great place for that engine to live out its days. A MG or TR4 would be nice too.

I have and MG, and two spit's... I really want to slap a 3500 in the spitfire one day... but that may require a dry sump or something... they are not tall bays.
