  • Getrag 284 shift cable group buy

Since these are no longer made, and are becoming very rare, custom is the only way to go. How many people would be interested in getting one? I have a custom one here, that even Chuck Norris couldnt break. I can get pictures up tomorrow and post some specs. If enough people are interested, I could get prices together and see what can be done with a group buy. Once again depends on how many are interested.

Cable fitted with all stainless steel hardware, fully adjustable, with hiem joints at each end. It is rated for 215lbs push and 620lbs pull. It is bigger around and stiffer than the stock cable was. However I doubt anyone will break it.

The select cables can still be bought new, or NOS I should say, so Im not too concerned about that yet, and these cables dont seem to break as much as the shift cables do.

Prices are: (plus shipping to your location)
$133.94 for a single cable (no group buy)

$110.92 for group buy (10 or more cables need to be bought)

    Thoughts?

No. The cables are different. However you might be able to change the end home joints to something that might work. I haven't looked into something like that.

As of right now, the groups buy lasts until 02/08/13. Still don't have 10 people accounting for 10cables, so it's looking like everyone is gonna have to buy the single cable at the cost of a single.

If you could find a way to make this cable work with a 282 I know a large group of Beretta guys that would probably want to buy one of these.

And I know its very short notice so it may not work out, but out of curiosity where did you get this made? I'm sure if they had a 282 cable to copy they could do those as well.

I may be interested in 282 cables. Lot more people have 282's then 284's. How often do these break? Mine are fine but one day they will break and those parts aren't that easy to find.

2nd that. The Beretta guys would be all over this. They are always hunting for cables. If it could work 3400-95 Mod could do a topic on Bnet and I would put one up on the Quad site.

I just made a topic on the Quad site(with a link here) just to see if anyone there needs a W-body cable.
I can relay info if needed.

What are the differences between the 284 and 282 cables? Is it just the end mounting styles? If that's the case I can get different cable ends put on to account for that.

As for the difference in body platforms, I would imagine the length would be different. That's easy to account for. I'll just need to know how the cables mount and if there are any more differences between the cable posted here and the 282 cables.

Someone measure and take pics of a 282 cable and then 19Cutlass94 post up specs on the 284 cable... I don't have a manual so I can't really chime in anymore.
