I'd like to see where this goes...

A quick update. I'm waiting on pricing. Anyone have an idea of what they are willing to pay for a set of 4340 rods and forged pistons?

OK so some updates finally. I'm waiting for some pricing back on parts. I've identified a group of pistons and rods that will work with the 3.9L (primarily) and the 3.5L. What I really need to get a feel for is what applications people are looking for.

I can only order one type of rod as they will be custom and the quantity will be high. Pistons are a bit less of an issue since they are pretty standard.

So I need to know what RPM range people want to run, what type of engine (boost or naturally aspirated), HP ranges people might want to run and most importantly compression ratios.

Once I get a better handle on what people want I can finalize the pricing process. So far I can get 8:1 to 14:1 compression depending on the piston and the manufacturer. I'd prefer to narrow this down to maybe 2 compression for naturally aspirated and 2 for boost.

Also how many people are interested in 3.5L pistons and rods?

As much as I can make? My current turbo is supposed to support 650ish I think.

Realistically what car is your engine in? I'd think for most transverse mounted cars 650 is the limit unless you have a very expensive race transmission... for longitudinally mounted the sky is probably the limit....

I figured 650 is the upper range for most people. I'm not sure the 60 degree heads can support more than 700 HP and I think even that is a stretch... but I have no data to say either way. I just haven't heard of anyone making more than 700 HP from one....

So far there doesn't seem to be as much interest as there was a few months ago.... hopefully we can get some more people to respond.

Has anyone ever cracked a block before?

If I'm buying aftermarket rods I might as well push some limits
