I bought one awhile back new off MMS. I should really send mine up there or hand deliver it to him (since I'm not to far away) and get mine situated as well, I'm not exactly sure if there is something wrong, but I rather have it inspected then wing it once I have the new motor ready...2001 GLS 3400. If it has TCE engraved on it then it should be fine, if it's a blank face cam gear then it probably came from this batch, as far as we know only this batch is affected.

I don't think anyone has received any update from him. Things may be busy for him with his recent health issues... Hopefully we get some info sometime soon.

I would think its never too late to send it to him, something is up with them and there is no idea how many are affected so it would be very wise to send it in... I just hope he's well enough to get these taken care of.

I ordered an external crank trigger off of BritishCarConversions on August 21st and sent him an email when it would be shipped. I have yet to have a reply. I just shipped mine back today. Marc gave me a bit of an update at the same time, I hope he don't mind me posting it here to keep people updated with progress
"So far I have found two upper sprockets that are out of tolerance but .002" and the gear cutter said that really should not have an effect given the chain length and diameter of the sprocket. The funny thing is, the two Jon (3400modified) sent back were well within tolerance. The problem appears, at this point, to be the lack of oil grooves in the back of the sprocket causing the chain to run dry and wear prematurely. You can see heat marks (blue) on the back side of the one Jon had in his engine. This shows there was a lack of oil getting to the back side of the sprocket which also slings out on the chain."Comment
