I need a 3500 idler that goes where the powersteering pump went on earlier cars, also, can anyone confirm that a 3400 timing cover is the same as a 3500 in that area? mainly, can you bolt the 3500 idler to a 3400 cover?

I have a box of them. Are you talking about the one at the bottom right hand side when looking at the timing cover? It's just a standard smooth idler pulley. I have a pile of the ribbed pulleys as well. -

Which one? The P/S pump is in the same position on the 3500 as earlier motors...

The pulley that goes here!
I assume that pulley stand-off like seen in the center except it bolts on. am I correct in thinking that?

The 3500 tensioner hit the P/S? Almost looks like it's going to work in the pic if your belt was longer. You also have the spot inline from the crank to W/P that can hold an idler pulley, and either ribbed or smooth.Comment
