  • Crank case breather/catch can

It took me a while to find not only all the fittings, but the Taps to intall the fittings and someone to customize a SS line, not only that i have a friend that was able to produce the canister/catch can very professionally and cheap.

I know that the factory PCV valve and line system is a pain in the but to maintain when you have a custom intake, CAI, or running boost. Running one of the small filters that you can get from an autozone store will work, but over time they will make a mess because of all the moister and oil fumes that get pumped throught them.

So i am going to offer a small run of a kit and service to install the crank case breather system i have come up with. Price will pend on how many people are interested but i doubt even one person is. But i'm still going to offer it because it was such a pain in the ass to come up with this solution and plumb it, and i can get everything built and done for cheaper than buying a canister made by a company and 2 FT of stainless steel braided line. With the price i'm making my time and gas back, i am offering this to our community as we have such a limited aftermarket.

    just for reference:

pictured is what i'm offereing for 180$
includes canister which can be made of aluminum or stainless, petcock, breather, all fittings in brass, stainless steel lines, and if you send me your valve covers in the mail, i will have them tapped and cleaned and sent back out for the price of shipping. I could arrange just sending valve covers out that are already tapped for a small fee of what ever they cost me at a wrecker.

    Here is another comparison:https://www.allperformanceproducts.c...on=show_detail

If i get my engine bay back together i'll take some high res. installed shots by the end of today. i would like to make a run of atleast 5, the canister is costimg me 40$, filter 18$, and assorted fittings come out to 60$ and the lines are 20$, i know if i go back tothe shop to buy 40 fittings they are going to give me a good deal. this could bring the cost down to 150-160$

Under the snow, yes there, you can see it lol

i guess this doesnt make sence to some as i thought it would. the intake i tapped and plugged, and the 90*fitting goes into the rear valve cover under the coil pack:

I don't see the purpose of a catch can if your not pulling a VAC on the setup, I've never seen it done before on our engines but I don't think it would push out all that much oil if just left open to air.

It's not going to push oil, it's just moister and burn oil fumes, it's the only vent on the crank case so that will be what pushes it.

well looking into what 3400modified said i might have to modify this just a bit with a vaccum port and a check valve on the canister to help evacuate crank case gasses that do the most harm at idle...

Well i'm going to have to re-design this a bit to make it function 'better' or properly, and right when your think your done running around chasing fittings.
this setup is now going to require the rear valve cover line going to the intake between the TB and MAF, and the canister to loose the filter, and utilize the fastory PCV valve or aftermarket, and then go to the intake after the TB. nothing huge, just a pain in my ass. again. i should have it mocked up by tomorrow
