  • For Sale : Ported/Polished 3.4 DOHC Heads (1991-95)

Set of heads that were ported and polished by Ben at WOT-Tech.

The heads were 0 mile casting with factory 3 angle valve seat grind. When they went on my motor they received lapped intake valves and NEW exhaust valves. Factory 3.4 dohc springs, with the largest shim that would fit (I believe .06). Valves did not float at all the way up to the 7k limiter. New valve stem seals.

Heads have less than 2k miles on them. My 3.4 began to leak out the front crank seal and had a bit of blowby due to worn rings - I replaced the whole engine for a stock LX9 motor. That is the reason for selling these heads.

When stock the car dynod at 190 front wheel horsepower on a Mustang Dyno. I never had it dynod with the ported heads but with ported heads, 96 intakes, and 2.5" exhaust it was a considerable improvement. I'd estimate in the range of an additional 50 horsepower above 4000 rpm.

    I will post pictures tonight.

$275. You pay shipping, should hopefully fit into a flat rate box.

I paid $180 for the bare 0 mile heads. About $400 for the port work. And then even more for new exhaust valves and spring shims.

Not sure I would want to ship heads in a flat rate box, unless it was considerably large with lots and lots of packing.

    Anyway, BUMP!

Sorry, I've been busy and didn't get around to posting pics yet.

Here is a pic I took last night, obvisouly this just shows the heads and not the portwork which would be difficult to see with the valves installed. I do have pics of the port work (before the valves went in) on another computer and can post them tonight or tomorrow.

The heads were only on the motor for about a year and less than 2k miles so when removed the headgaskets came off clean and didn't leave a bunch of gunk on the matine surface. Don't know if I mentioned in my original post but the heads were NEW casting when they were ported (they had never been run on a motor) and after the port work they did get resurfaced as well.

I do still have them. I'm still digging for pictures that show the portwork.
I think they might be stored on my old computer (broken) but the hard drive should still be good, I'll just need to figure out a way to get that hooked up to my new computer so I can access the pics.
