John and I have been working on a 96 Achieva for a friend and every time we fix something, something else breaks. Now it needs a heater core...right after I got done tuning it!
We are either gonna have to keep fixing it, or part it out so he can buy my cutlass. So here is what we have.
The original owner had a rebuilt trans and new torque converter installed. A week later, the cam snaps in half and the engine is junk. Friend buys the car, and I put together a 3400 out of what I have here. Honed the 3400, soda blasted everything, tanked the block, new cam bearings, rod bearings, main bearings. Sportsman ported 3400 heads with 3500 valves and LS6 springs, low mile stock cam, new timing chain set, new gaskets, ported manifolds and it has the 99 large port 3100 upper on it. 00+ 3400 injectors, 55psi regulator, 97 PCM tuned. Low mile lifters too.
Engine and Trans: $1000 OBO. Very serious about the OBO part but we need to sort out the future of this car quickly. Either we fix the heater core and replace the fuel pump assembly (it was fixed but it really just needs to be replaced), or we sell off these parts and he buys my cutlass.
