I have the one out of my 92 Z24 with the W-41 gearing. Not for sure if there are any differences or not. Someone here should know.

What is a jackshaft? I know J and N cars are the same mounting wise, since the gearbox is from an Achieva and worked in my Z24.

          mounts are different.

could be worked around, but that's time and fab work.

I have been doing some digging, looks like the clutch actuation may be different also.

Yeah the newer jbody 282s use a different clutch slave setup than the older 282s. A jbody 282 will work if I make a custom
mount but I'd really like to have a w-body one since it will bolt in.

The jackshaft is a solid axle that goes on the passengers side of the transmission. It makes it so that both cv axles are the same length. Kind of hard to explain but I'm pretty sure only wbodys got this.

Oh the intermediate shaft. 87 up J cars with the Getrag have those. I think the same is true for the N body cars also.
