  • For Sale : WOT 1280 Cam w/ Pushrods (Old Stage 3 N/A)

I bought this cam about 3 years ago but never installed it. It was supposed to go in the 3400 in my Grand Am, but I've changed my mind. There is nothing wrong with this cam. It has no rust, pitting or wear marks on it. In fact it has never been installed. Since it's a WOT cam, it is a regrind from a solid core cam. This will fit 3100, 3400 and non-VVT 3500 engines, but tuning will be needed. The pushrods have been spec'd for use with this cam and stock rocker arms. They are not oil restricting.

Cam Card Specs: .323/.337 cam lobe lift (times rocker ratio), 269/277 duration seat to seat, 212/220 (@.050) duration, 112 LSA, 109 ICL.

    Price $280 + shipping.

Are you firm on price? And is any modification needed to the valve guides to support the 596 lift?

PM a price and we can deal. I know 3500 heads are fine as long as your using 28986 springs and stock seals/shims. I think your also safe with 3400 heads and the same spring/seal combo, but i'm not sure.

How do you arrive at 596 lift? 1.6* .337 != What is the method used for calculating?

That is a pretty good profile for a well tuned street/occasional strip car, and will work with an auto.

Should have an OK bottom end and make good power to 6000+ RPM

But it will need the 28986 springs.

                And the price is right.

My bad, I did 373 lobe lift when I did the calculation... dyslexic...

it is 516/539 vs my 517/568 so I would be 100% fine, its less lift on my exhaust than I have now.

I need to think about this and figure out what I want to do... I don't know if this would improve my n/a power and lessen the affect of the nitrous, or just lessen both since its a little less duration and less lift...

The only guy who can answer that is Ben and I don't feel like spending 30 bux for him to run my profile and this one in a simulation just to compare.

Is this considered a somewhat mild cam?

Nah, it's pretty healthy but should be able to be tuned for a street car no problem. Merlot ran this cam in his 3500 fiero.
