ummm excuse the fuck me, there is no way im rockin whinnie the pooh seat covers with a piglet steering wheel cover and not having the matching eyor front floor mats and owl rears.

but on a serious note... i painted the part of the dash that matched the 'grey wood' or whatever stipe i already painted red. lol and i think its getting a little too red for me.

NOOO dont use it, get a group of guys that know there way around a CNC machine and see how far it goes. i know they won't be able to make all the parts but how many more kits like this are going to come around ever again. Id like to see the Getrag 284 bought back to life. Thats just my opinion. and id throw in $300 to see it happen. haha

Why don't you get the parts 3D scanned? Today they can make them right from 3D data. Additionally the blocker ring can be rapid prototyped directly from the 3D file.

What exactly is such a big deal about the 284 compared to the new F40s that everyone wants the 284?

Why not just get a custom gear maker to make new gears?

If that kit came with as much as it appeared to... than its a HUGE deal.

It's one of the smoothest shifting FWD units made when it's in good shape, it can handle much more than it was rated for, and Nico P. (one of the old time 60v6ers that moved on to BMWs) tore one apart a long time ago and reported back that the parts were hardly any smaller than BMWs biggest manual trans, it's made by Getrag (not like the 282 that was made by Muncie) who makes awesome transmissions and it's fully syncronized- I can go into reverse while rolling forward without so much as a peep from it.

I should work for Getrag, huh? >.>

I doubt he has the parts anymore though. The last time he was on this site was the last time someone posted to this thread, then he didn't respond :/

I agree though, seeing a kit for these made would be the cats meow.
