  • SOLD! Two 1227730 ECMs

For a reason I still haven't been able to fathom, the PO of my car gave me an extra ECM when he sold me the wagon. He thought it might be bad. As it doesn't have a PROM, I don't know how I could test it. I recently replaced the ECM that was in the car since it seemed to be a little wonky. It does have a PROM. The one with the PROM looks to be an aftermarket reman, as the case is painted black. The extra one the PO gave me has a silver case, so it's probably OEM.

I know how much it cost me for the one from the junkyard ($33), and I know how much they are from GM ($150+). I also know the PROM can be expensive too. So I'm looking for... say, $50 plus shipping for both of them? Or offer me something. I'm lookin' for a little extra cash.

    However, I can't guarantee they'll both work.

They're both service number 1227730, which is compatible with a number of GM cars from the era. My car is a 1989 A-body with the aluminum head MFI V6 engine and four speed auto. Might need to be reprogrammed for three speed or manual use. Probably won't work in a W car, since that platform had the computer in the engine bay and used a different casing and connectors. Pictures upon request, but I'm sure everyone's seen one before.

There will be no warranty of any kind on these items. I do not guarantee they will work. Buy at your own peril. I don't know if I can ship these to Canada, Mexico, Peru, or anywhere else outside the United States.
