Im ready to give the MPFI system one more shot before I ripe off the intake and install a carb, and so far the only guy selling on ebay, already sent me bunk chips.

I did get a 2nd conformation that a strobe flashing SES light is a ECM restart code as it can't read the chips.

Do you hve a chip reader/burner? If not, you can send me one of the bad memcals and see if I can get the .bin off of it and b urn you a good chip. Just pay for the chip.

Didn't know that was an option. Shouldn't there be a website full of binsor what ever to download? Can't be that many. Is RIIA coming after chip burners

What kind of cost we talking about, just os I know.

I believe chips are under $5 each.

Course Im near cluless on the chips stuff but is probably easier then I think.
                [what does a burner/reader cost?]

                peep this out
DFI and ECM - Anyone know the ECM board layout - Anyone know the ECM board layout that could tell me what is controled in what area. Like take one look at my burned ECM and say oh yea your bla bla bla circut burned out. [ ECM board is burnt in one spot. ] Insted of testing 999999 things to see what bad in the system,...

Still not sure which chip would be bad by my code or what he is saying, is it the big prom chip or the small memcal chip?

Which chip can your burn or not?

I didn't want to hurt any feeling on TGO so ihave yetto say anything but I did worm my way into getting that Fagoel Blower and intake for the 60* that dude let go dirt cheap. And I got all the parts I need from buying a low mile 85 2.8 non computer s15 to get it installed, but part of me want to still triumph over that darn FI system, since I did buy a new ECM for it.

Yeah chips are $5 each at Moates.

The blinking SES is saying bad memcal/prom. The memcal is the entire thing that plugs into the ECM, the propm is the chip ON the memcal (the part that holds the tuning info).

Hmmmm I got two chips, a big one and a little one, they are not part of each other, they plug into two different spots.

The big chip is the memcal. On the speed density ECM's, the little chip is where the knock sensor filter would be.
