  • Wanted Torsen Or Quaife Diff For Getrag 282

Ok, I know this is probably going to be next to impossible to find, but if anyone has one, or knows the whereabouts of one of the above said units, I'd like to know about it. Mantapart does not have any, I just got off the phone with them, they sold them all right after they aquired them, just never updated the website.

care to elaborate on why you hated the Team Green ? I am about to buy one.

I have a team green, its, well, not everything its cracked up to be. I will say I do have the earlier version, apparently there is a new one for the older getrags, maybe its better. $4000 is just a little more then im willing to spend.

can you elaborate on that ? what does it do wrong ?

Well, with the car jacked up, rotating one wheel, yes the other wheel rotates the same way, but it doesn't take much effort to stop it. Once one tire breaks loose, its just an open diff. Its metal on metal in the carrier, and the springs are probably not strong enough.
                    BTW you have a pm.

the team green took away the torque steer for the most part on my stock 3400. drag it seemed alright, but so did open diff. for autocross it just sucked, it was worthless.

even with the EP i can still burn one tire in autocross if i tried, but its still a LOT better than TG and open diff

mine took away the torque steer and seemed to help alot at the track, driving around town i can't tell it's there.. and i like it that way. lol

Mars, is the welded diff getting to you already? I might be willing to buy it

I am kinda hi-jacking here, but...

The welded diff I think I welded wrong.

Driving it isn't that bad. I don't care about that.

What I did was fill the voids in the sidegears so that there would be some play in the diff, (aka Fozzy locker) WELL, I think that was the bad way of doing this because last weekend I broke my first axle. I think the "slop" in the diff caused it to slam the axle into fwd motion, thus snapping it.

Not 100% sure that it's the cause, but I will keep experimenting with stuff. Right now, i think the key would be to weld the thing SOLID.

Yah, with FWD it's one or the other, having any play would cause problems. I might have to pull mine out and weld it just for kicks..
