wow, thats almost as much as i paid for my whole 3500 motor.. same car.. 9k miles... complete...

That's part of my delema too... I paid 350 for a 4k mile Malibu motor... so as nice as it would be to have these parts I could start with a full 3500 and swap to that vs re-using my 3400 lower end.

But I don't want to knock on his prices... Every place sells stuff at a different price... It may be easy for some of us to get a hold of these 3500 engines but others they may be worth 800-900 in their area for a 20k mile motor.

With all due respect to Erich, and Jon is right it can be regional, I can find lower mileage 3500's in the $400-$500 range.

However that is only a what? three year engine?

They will get harder to find pretty soon with decent mileage.

I have three (one in the car) so I'm good, but that is not a bad price for quality parts.
