  • For Sale : 1.6 rockers

I have a set of 1.6 stamped rockers forsale. You might ask, "Why would I want those?" .
If you have a 2.8 or 3.1 mpfi and your engine has the stock rockers, you'll find that the rockers in there now are 1.5 ratio.

What these 1.6 rockers are made to do, is to mimic as if you installed a slightly more aggressive cam. What's great is that you will not have to pull the engine, heads and all that jazz to install these.
If you can replace valve cover gaskets, you can install these.

You reuse your pushrods, studs, guides, bearings and nuts. Just replace the old 1.5 rockers with these 1.6's!

No tune is required, no extra fuel is needed, and it's an easy modification!

50.00 SHIPPED anywhere in the USA ( OBO )
Will ship to canada, PM for shipping quote.

Didn't you say the guides or something had to be modified?

This is how I went about it.

      I have a few 2.8's and 3.1's....

Not ALL of them I did the guide grinding or guide swap. I just left them as they were. This was for the DD car.

Now for the other cars I DID take out the old ones and grind the guides ABOUT 1/16".

      All cars run flawlessly.

I guess to ensure proper fitment, you should "grind the guides" .

Another thing to note is, this mod is cheaper and safer than a Under Drive Pulley. Easier AND CHEAPER than putting headers on, and still cheaper than a TRUE cold air intake in most cases.

If grinding is not necessary, I'll take them.

I am not going to suggest NOT to grind them. It's not hard to do. Another interesting thing to note is that the roller tips that I have came with instructions and all that to install, but no where on them can I remember it saying modifying the guides... Food for thought.

PM me if you want to buy them and we'll exchange info.

They probably didn't have a problem for the iron head motors that they were designed for.

I installed these on a 3.1 MPFI years ago and had no guide to pushrod clearance issue. You SHOULD be good to go, it's well worth the investment.

I wonder if 3x00 roller fulcrums would work too if you machined off the tab on the bottom of them....

I would guess they would work, since the 3x00 heads with notches can swap to the rollers if the year doesn't have them already. So for non-notched heads (like mine) I would keep the guides and mod the rockers... Hmmmm. (thinking out loud)...
