  • FS: '86 4 cyl Fiero rolling chassis

Woops... My last thread on this has gone away.

I have for sale a chassis which was purchased as a parts cars/potential future project. Keeping it until I'm ready to take on new projects is ridiculous, so I'm getting rid of it. I'm trying to get rid of all my excess junk by the end of the year.

I'd like $500 for it. I will trailer either car to meet you HALF WAY, which can be up to 200 miles from 22849. If you want to negotiate the price, I'll be less willing to help with delivery. If you want me to deliver it to your doorstep, even within 200 miles, that will cost more.

The car smells like it's staying dry inside
    It is (mostly) RED.
    Pictures to follow.

    Specs:
    4 cyl
    5 speed
    Fully Optioned:
    -PW/PM/PL
    -Sunroof
    -Cruise
    -A/C
    -Rear Window Heat
    -Trunk lid release
    -Leather
    -Performance sound

Engine is still sealed but in unknown condition
    Trunk lock broken
    Tear in rear fascia
Radio is missing, wires have been cut
Interior is complete, but passenger door panel has been disassembled to remove power mirror.
Driver's seat is heavily worn with tears in suede
Console peel is worse than average
    Windshield is cracked

I put power to the car and was able to verify operation of the power windows, power locks, decklid release and cooling fan. The car will most likely need a new power mirror switch.

    Exterior/Interior Pictures:

I was finally able to get this car up in the air to answer a question asked in the previous thread about rust:

I would qualify this car as being in above average condition with regard to rust, for an east coast car.
Also remember that this car has also been off the road for NINE years and as such has been through nine fewer winters than any car that has been driven for its whole life.

In these three pictures you can see heavy surface rust on the front suspension components, but nothing structural. I have seen the diagonal braces from the crossmember to the air dam LITERALLY rusted completely away to nothing. These are still solid.

As you can see from these, the underbody and gas tank are completely rust free.

These two pictures show part of the rear subframe. As with the suspension crossmember, this is only surface rust and the part is structurally sound. The second picture shows the right cradle rail. This is under the gap opened by the missing rear grille on top of the car. This side has thus been exposed to more water than the other side. This rust is limited to the area of the photo.

These are pics of the corners of the trunk. This is a bad rust area for Fieros, and as you can see, this car is pristine in this area.

    This is the engine bay.
    Current:
\'87 Fiero GT: 12.86@106 - too dam many valves; ran 12.94 @ 112 on new engine, then broke a CV joint
\'88 Fiero Formula: slow and attention getting; LZ8 followed by LLT power forthcoming
\'88 BMW 325iX: The penultimate driving machine awaiting a heart transplant

    Gone, mostly forgotten:
\'90 Pontiac 6000 SE AWD: slow but invisible

I guess I'll have to upgrade my assessment to "significantly better than average"

Fieros are great cars for 60 degree build-ups. They are as light as or lighter than the FWD platforms, but have better traction than F-bodies. They easily out-handle the F-bodies and FWD chassis as well.
