wifee is pushin for marriage early next yr and i just dont have the funds to keep goin, even though my friend was goin to help me out and we r tryin to get a house and this is holdin us back but i will have another chance hopefully next yr on suttn else as this is just takin to long

Absolutely no punn intended, just noting a common scenario that I've seen several times across different forums. The threat of pending marriage, or child birth usually spells the end of hobbies and sometimes happiness for us motorheads. Wife or child comes and car goes. I've seen it so many times. If my brother is any indication, you have to get rid of your toys in order to have money to pay for hers. Congratulations on the family life enhancement pending.

If a wife and child comes and your hobby has to go, your with the wrong woman.... Sorry but thats just my personal opinion... Now putting a hobby on hold to establish a house hold and a family I can understand but if you have to do away with it, your with the wrong person. My g/f supports my hobby 100% and contributes to it as much as possible, and I will do the same for her.

its not bout bein w/ the wrong woman (we've been 2gether for almost 11yrs and 2 kids later) and she has been very patient for me to finish my car (almost 4 yrs) as i kept findin more and more things to add to it ( spendin almost 8k w/ buyin the car) and then it pissed me off that it spun the main bearing and not to mention if ud looked in my sig i havent sold everything as their is alot of things i still have that i never decided to sell as i would like to have a beretta already be a color i would like.

jon not to sound like a jerk or anything or to pt fingers as i have alot of respect for u and many others but when u have kids u make many more sacrifices then u would for any woman in ur life as ur kids will be there no matter what as long as u want to be a father and be there for them as they will give back when u will need them the most and the luv from them is like no other

i thought my kids r where the money should go but i still have the gtp that i would be able to throw the money into if i decide to but i WILL ALWAYS have a car to play w/ and i may just do suttn simple w/ my car like what u have kflo since i havent been able to sell much anyways

im sorry but kids or not, im not letting a woman dictate what i can or can not do.
yeah obviously kids come first but you should still have your hobby.

if im ever with a woman and it comes down to my cars or her well hmm guess which one im gonna pick, and when she asks why i can just say well the cars been around alot longer than you and isnt going abywhere.

thats part of thwe reason some of the relationships ive been in havent lasted, the girls just dont support or have no interest in what im doing, so you know what bye. ill wait for someone who is, it may take awhile but it will be worth it.

point is with all that rambling dont let a woman control your hobby or you. you will regret it in the future.

To be honest with you I kept mine simple overall for drivability sake and the fact that I feel like I don't have a lot longer to be able to spend money on my Beretta...

Anyways I say props on having your priorities in line with the kids and stepping up to the plate for the family. My dad dropped a lot of his car hobbies and took me on as a single parent when he and my mom split up. So, I have to say I respect what you're doing because I had a stand up dad that put his life on hold for me pretty much.

Anyways, I hope you do make the car run in some form, even if its just a 3400 5 speed with some bolt ons, ya know? Still fast enough to have fun with.

she not dictatin my life if u've read my post obvious she has been supportive of my hobby as why she has waited so long for me to finally make it official and the fact that when anything happens to her car at anytime i have her pay for the parts and i end up makin it faster everytime so she is supportive in her own way and i may get my car runnin just prolly not til tax season again.

and sometimes in life u have to make some kind of sacrifice whether it has to do w/ ur own hobby or not its just a part of life that u/ve havent learned yet. and when decision come like what u stated u can have both u just have to know how to work it out and put things aside for a lil while.

Sorry but this quote just makes it sound like someone is telling you what to do... If my g/f pushes for marrage and I wont have the money to do both then ok car gets put on hold, not sold...

Just the way you said everything and the way Joseph Upson was speaking about it makes it sound like your being or getting told what to do, I'm not directly responding to what You have to do but more to the way Joseph described it.

I guess you do what you gotta do, but it just didn't sound like it's something YOU had the idea of.

I know about sacrifices, and when it comes down to it I've made MANY of sacrifices for 6 years and I regret every single one because it got me no where.

Now I have the ability to make decisions and not have to sacrifice what I want to do because of the new relationship I am in.
