OK.....just bought a new car, so I figure four cars for one person is a bit nuts.... One has to go, and it is going to be the Lumina
Here is the deal:
1995 Lumina
1997 LQ1 drivetrain swapped (inc 4T65E), with full OBD-II compatibility.
290K on body, 40K on drivetrain, see below for mileage on chassis...
New front tires (under 10K), newer rears (under 30K)....all BFG 225/60 R16
Pontiac 5 spoke 16" rims (from a Grand Prix)
Late Wbody 97+ front brake upgrade (under 20K)
Almost new rear struts/springs (from 2007 Impala SS), new front cartridges
Full 1999 Intrigue disk rear/aluminum knuckles/ABS
1999 Intrigue leather seats (front and rear)
Factory CD
New GM floormats
Lots of other stuff.....just ask.
Here is a quick narrative:
The car drives like new, as the suspension is completey new and factory. No issues at all. There was one spot of rust on the passenger side rocker (door covers it), but I have cut it out and base metal is good. This car knocks down 25mpg on average (city/highway) and is setup with ALL factory parts. I just swapped in the LQ1/4T65E, again all factory. MANY new parts related to this swap (alternator, starter, fuel rail/injectors, etc). EVERYTHING functions.... The only codes it is throwing are an evap flow (pretty sure the evap sensor is bad) and it used to throw a rear O2 as I don't have a cat on it. I did the spark plug antifouler thing on the rear O2 (which is there and wired in.....) and it stopped throwing that code. Otherwise, all is good. Car runs strong, straight, no weird vibes, A/C was just recharged and blows COLD, all electrical parts are perfect and work. This car was my daily driver...and has always been there for me. The trans, as noted, is a 4T65E, and has a spacer shift kit and Dexron VI fluid in it, new HD axles on both sides. Engine and all other fluids are synthetic....and always have been. Ball joints are new as are outer tie rods and the rack is newer as well. I'm a HUGE proponent of changing parts just because....and not waiting for them to fail. This thing is 100% awesome and I will stand behind it....
The bad: The damn timing belt just jumped a couple teeth as I accidentally spilled some P/S fluid in that area. Yes, that sucks. Anyhow....the car is NOT running at this point. So this presents an opportunity for you
If you want to buy the car right now....as is (and I have a new timing belt I just picked up), I'll let it go for $500. If you know these cars, then the alternator and starter are worth almost this much by themselves. On the other hand, if you want me to replace the timing belt and retime it.....the car will be running and perfect.....then I want $1,500 for it. Your choice.....but let me know. The timing belt jumped on Thursday by my workplace, and I am bringing the car home tomorrow (had to finish month end....I'm a Controller) to start replacing the belt. LET ME KNOW ASAP if you want it as-is....
I live in Illinois in the suburbs of Chicago. I am renting a car dolley tomorrow to bring it home, and that is only costing me $40. Sooo....if you are semi-local.....it isn't much to drag it around wherever. Of course, if you buy it running....it will and you can drive it home.
I'm going to miss this car.....it has everything in a W-body I would want. I *love* the LQ1 as it is different....and suprisingly, it had awesome power and mileage.
Also....in case you hate the LQ1.....I have a 3400 out of a 1999 Grand Am that I will make available for an additional $250 for whoever buys the car. That engine has 30K on it....and is complete.
Let me know!
Also.....please don't IM me on the board, as that takes me effort to get to. Email me at my address: l.kurek @ comcast.net
THANKS!!!
