  • ALDL Cable & LED bulbs

    Items For Sale.
Prices include shipping by post office in the US.
First unconditional "I'll take it" reply gets first dibs.
I take paypal both credit card and non-credit card funded.
or money order but it will have to clear firs before I ship.

    1) SOLD!!! ALDL Cable SOLD!!!!
I built this to scan my car. I made two to justify the cost of ordering a few parts. It will work with all OBDI cars including the 94-95 un-tuneable "OBD1.5" which I have definition files for to read and clear codes, as well as to read sensor data for both TunerPro RT and ScannerPro. If anyone needs those let me know I will post my latest ones up which are the most complete anywhere.

It is based off of the max232 chip so it outputs the correct standard output signals/voltages so it will be 100% compatible with all serial ports. It is powered internally by a 9v battery, delivering clean power and leaving your cigarette port open to power your laptop, and no stealing power from the serial port which means it will always function correctly. It has a power on/off switch, with a Blue LED to indicate power, and a Red-Orange LED that blinks when activity is received from the car. (this actually is helpful for cars that need a "disable coms" command to go through before connecting, as you can verify it was successful then connect). Plus it looks cool. It will be 100% compatible with all serial ports due to internal regulated power and the correct rs232 standard output from the chip.

    Circuit: (partially completed pic)

    The finished product:

Comes with brand new Rayovac 9v installed. Blue/silver wire goes to ground. Copper wire goes to data port on ALDL on the car. It takes a lot of hours to solder up all this and fit it all in this small of a box. I don't want to do this again so this is the only one for sale. Sorry, won't be making more.
    $45 shipped

    2) Green 194 LED wedge bulbs
These are inverted cone and emit light to the sides and some in the front. I also have a few holders for using them in gauge clusters, if you want those they are 25cents extra each, limited qty. You can make green gauge back lighting or throw them in your courtesy lights under the dash, etc.

    $1.00 each, +.50 shipping.
    Min order 2.
    6 available right now.

    ...

After you claim it, I will PM you with my paypal address.

    Thanks!

    I'm interested

Would you be willing to also burn a CD with the software that you have had your best luck with as well? (assuming it's freeware that is) If not I am still interested.

What software are you looking for? The ones I use for my 94 3100 are:
Car, Tuning, ECU, ECM, PCM, Calibration, Modify, Scan, Scanner, OBDI, OBD1, OBDII, OBD2, GM, General Motors, Ford, Subaru, BMW, Renault, Volkswagen, VW, Motronic, LT1, LB9, L98, Firebird, Camaro, Mustang, Moates, Buell, Ducati, Nissan, DSM, Mitsubishi, Diamond Star Motors, EECV, EEC V, EECIV, EEC IV

They aren't that big of files. Do you need the 3100 definition files I have modified/made? If so let me know and I can upload the latest ones to my website.

I can burn them to a CD for you if you wish, but it's all really small downloads.

So you'll take the ALDL cable or just interested? *confused*

        Yeah I'll take it.

Well the files for the 3100 wouldn't due me much good seeing as I have the 3.4TDC. Mostly I just haven't ever tried tuning a GM ECU, and was looking for the programs that you you have had best luck with. Thanks for the links I have no problem d/l the software my self. PM me with you paypal and I should be able to send the money tomorrow.

For tuning, I don't use anything cause nothing is available for my car to edit the computer.

The programs I listed above are free, and you can make your own definition files even if you can't find them online. TunerProRT you can also tune with. ScannerPro (in beta) just scans at this time, but you can make your own dashpad with gauges layed out any way you want (analog too).

If you search around I'm sure you'll find scanning defs, and ecu bin mask files for the 3.4 DOHC, as there are plenty of people that have tuned it before.

          PM incoming.

            Thanks!!

Well I don't think with just this I will be able to tune, But i have been looking into an Ostrich 2.0 from Moates that replaces (or piggy backs) the memcal then allows you to tune on the fly, either that or a chip burner. Either way it's all pipe dreams at the moment, at least until I start learning whats all in the ECU. Hence the reason I want to get your serial converter.

My def files are only for 94-95 3100 cars. You'll have to find the def's elsewhere for DOHC.

Yes the cable is sold pending funds. Updated first post.

Wow that was fast!!! I didn't get it out Friday cause when I went to get your address off the computer the cable modem went down and then the P.O. closed, but got it shipped Saturday. So it sure did travel far in a short amount of time!!!

                            Glad you got it safely!

BTW if the wires touch together while on, the activity light will light up. No harm will result in that happening, in case you are wondering. The chip is tolerant of that so no worries.
