We're in a place that's sunny year-round 2.8 is a little North of me, though.

Actually I had a 3.4 shipped from NY because it was a known running car (and cheap), it came to just over $200 for commercial to commercial freight with Con-Way.

i wouldnt even know how to get the engine ready to ship, where to take it to so it can be shipped...etc.

maybe if i knew the process it wouldnt be so daunting.

its on a few hours trip if you come get it. i used to drive from washington state to oklahoma and virginia to oklahoma all the time when i was in the navy....its actually kinda fun. it may even be cheaper than shipping. ill throw in a case of beer if you drive up...ill even help you drink it. but you WILL NOT drive after drinking. i cannot allow that!

As much as I would love to get that motor I won't drive from here. I can get a stock one that needs rebuilding here in FL for $400-$500 hopefully. If you shipped it may be cheaper to get that instead of having to pay for parts for a rebuild. Maybe I can rent a U-haul when school gets out. That will give me time to save up a little and plenty of driving time. Maybe we can work something out.

It's not that bad to ship an engine. Get a small pallette, and strap it on, go to your nearest Con-Way (they sub from UPS) and it's a done deal.

There is no way with gas prices - that it would be cheaper to drive.

Put it in a shipping calculator, shortblock and pallette weighed 220lbs. (with timing cover and oil pan).

I just looked up the drive on mapquest and its probably around 1100 miles to drive over there and then another 1100 to drive back. After gas, food, hotel, I could have bought another motor.
