  • 1989 Beretta GTU

Well its time for me to let my baby go. Anyone that has gone to Bfest know me and my car and can vouch for the care and condition of my car. I just dont have anywhere to keep it anymore and need it gone. I hate to sell it but its time to move on. I want someone here that will keep care of her to buy it. I listed it on ebay to get it sold fast. Heres some info on the car...

Engine/Transmission : Engine was replaced in 2001 with a 3.1 V-6 that has custom cut oil passages for the crank and a high volume and pressure oil pump. It has a Crane Compucam 2030 camshaft. The upper and lower intake are port matched to the gaskets. The upper intake is port matched to a 65mm throttle body. There is a underdrive crank pulley installed. The transmission was replaced with a fully rebuilt unit in 2002. The clutch was replaced at the same time.

Body/Frame: The car was completely repainted in 2002. All glass and body pannels were removed. The car was media blasted to bare metal and painted with Dupont GM Bright Red. All the ground effects were replaced with new GM pieces. All the exterior and interior weatherstrips were replaced with GM pieces. Windshield was replaced and the "BERETTA" windshield sticker was replaced along with the "GTU" decals on the body pannels were replaced with new GM decals.

Suspension/Brakes: The suspension was completely rebuilt with new ball joints, tie rods and poly graffite bushings from PST. The shocks and struts are KYB units with Eibach pro springs. The front brakes have been upgraded to 92+ style with crossdrilled rotors and performance pads. It has the Z51 rear sway bar and FE7 Front sway bar installed along with the GM strut tower brace. Wheels were replaced with new GM units in 2002. Installed at that time are Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Tires in 225/50/16 size. At this time there is about 8/32 tread on all tires. Since 02 the car has seen about 10K miles.

Exhaust: The exhaust system is custom built 2.5" from manifold back with a Catco high flow cat convertor. Finished off with a resonator and a megs dual slick tip.

Interior: The interior has had the headliner and carpet replaced. The seats are from a 90 GTZ with red leather inserts to duplicate the 90 Indy style interior. There is a compass mirror from a 97 Cadillac Deville installed. The dash has a dash cap covering the stock dashboard. Is starting to slightly warp near the defrost vent. The driver door pannel was replaced with a new GM unit in 2002. Cluster is fully operational with the exception of a couple of bulbs burnt out. The unleded fuel only and parking brake bulbs are out at this time. Windows are tinted with 20% all the way around as well as a windshield eyebrow. Custom made GTU trunk lid lining as seen in pictures.

Audio: The factory stereo was replaced with a Sony CD deck. The stock speaker are replaced with Pioneer 4" in dash and 6x9" in rear. The car is prewired for an amp.

Misc: The A/C was just updated to R134a and works great. I have recorded vent temps at around 38 degs. All electronics work in vechicle. I can only name a couple items that have not been replaced since I owned the vechicle. Items not replaced... Brake booster, Brake Master and Upper transmission mount. All other items have been replaced with GM parts or upgraded with performance aftermarket parts
