  • FS: My '92 Grand Prix Sedan, 5 speed

OK, so I’ve just discovered that the drag racing event that I thought was at the end of October is actually this weekend, so the GP will be for sale much sooner than I thought or told all of you. Oddly enough, I have taken the week of October 22nd off of work, the idea being that I would go to the drag event in Cordova on Saturday after a week long road trip. So instead, for those serious about buying the GP, if you live a good distance away and would have trouble getting the car to where you live, I’d be willing to work it out with you to deliver the car to you during that week I’m off. Now, on to the details of the car.

I’ll list the upgrades and essential parts first. I think they speak for themselves.

    Engine:
    Balanced and knife edged crankshaft
    SB Chevy forged rods
Ross forged racing pistons .020 over, factory compression height
Ported and polished ‘91-95 heads by Goodwin Competition
4.6L Ford valve springs and new SI valves with aggressive cut by Ben @60degreev6 Store
LIM ported and gasket matched by Ben @60degreev6 Store
    ‘96-97 Intake Manifold swap
    ‘96 cams and cam gears
    OBD II conversion
    A/C system removed
    FFP underdrive pulley
Custom assembly method that increases oil pressure 10 psi across the board
    All external surfaces painted
New radiator as of June ‘05

    Transmission:
Remanufactured Getrag 284 transmission all synchros perfect
    Centerforce Dual Friction clutch
    Balanced flywheel
1 new CV shaft, other new as of June ‘05
    New synchromesh every year

    Front Suspension and Brakes:
    ST lowering springs
    Gen 1.5 front strut housings
    KYB struts
    Poly sway bar bushings
11.25” brakes with ATE slotted rotors and Hawk pads
    Homebrew aluminum strut tower brace
New steering rack as of April ‘04

    Rear Suspension and Brakes:
FFP coilover setup with 300# springs
    Addco rear sway bar
    KYB struts
10.5” brakes with ATE slotted rotors and 94+ calipers, parking brake fully functional
Strut tower brace by Aweb of ClubGP
    GMPP trailing arms

    Spare parts and extras:
    5 speed Grand Prix shifter
160 Amp alternator for 91-93 DOHC
OBDI cruise control module (would work with car if you could make a throttle cable hook up)
Complete hydraulic clutch setup for Getrag 284
’94-95 DOHC cam gears (use collets, make timing easy)
    60degreev6 cam timing tool
HP Tuners tuner suite and tuning cable
Factory Delco CD player for 91-93 GP (refurbished with new internals, works great)
    Four point racing harness

The body is in great shape. The passenger rear door has a small dent below the trim, but it’s only noticeable if you’re looking for it. The only body rust I’ve seen is above the rear passenger wheel. The metal above it is slightly eroded but I keep it touched up with paint and it has not spread. There are a couple scuffs and scrapes but no permanent damage. The interior is not the best, but it’s all there. The carpet could stand to be replaced at some point, the sunroof cover’s cloth is starting to droop, and the back seat bottom has a small tear in it, but everything works fine. There are no stereo components currently installed, not even speakers. They were ditched to save weight, as was the A/C. The battery is also in the trunk and it’s an Optima Red Top.

Given all this, I don’t think I’m being unreasonable when I say I want $4200 for everything. There is no part of the car’s suspension that is more than 4 years old, the paint job is only 5 years old, and it drives like no other W-body on the planet. You won’t believe how neutral the handling is, you’d never think the car was front wheel drive. If you’ve got any questions about anything, PM me.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.
