  • Forged 3.5 pistons $299

I found these posted on Ebay, they have another listing for a 3.780 set at the same price. I believe 8 pistons come with the overbore set. Wish they were for the 3.9 at that price.

ummm... no dish? Must be super high compression pistons then.

I saw this over a month ago, the only problem is that used with stock 3500 heads your CR would be around 14:1

When you're having custom forged pistons done, it's wise to have one or two spares made at the same time. If you don't and you toast one (14:1 compression = holed pistons), buying one more later is very pricey.

Being forged pistons I would think you could shave the dome down to lower compression, another issue is will the valves clear since stock pistons have a big depression in the center

Triple or double stack the head gaskets. That will drop compression, and give you more piston/valve clearance.

The pistons are not domed, they are flat tops if I remember right.

your joking on that first part right?

I've heard of double and people do that in a pinch if necessary to pass tech at a local race track... but for a daily or full race application, I would think you would want to take another route

Nope, not joking at all. I know guys that do it for a race engine, and somewhat driven cars, not quite daily, but not far off, and have no problems with it whatsoever. Theirs ARE triple gasketed. With boost.
