I have a set of comp cams roller rockers for sale.....bought them last summer was planning on putting them in my fiance's 3.1 but I couldnt get them to tighten down, because I didn't have the iron head studs. We're just wanting to get rid of them, so we have more money for the wedding. asking $100 for them. heres a couple pics

I know you could probly get them to work on the 3400...not sure what all is needed tho, maybe ask around the forum someone will know for sure. Let me know what you find out man.

These would be a downgrade for any 3400, because the stock 3400 are already 1.6:1 but roller fulcrum. These would be great for a 2.8/3.1 that has 1.5:1 stock and nothing is roller.

I don't see the locking nuts in the pics.

I don't understand why they didn't tighten down, are you telling me you have the 8mm studs instead of 10?

If you check the radius on the stock and roller rockers (and they match), you can probably use the stock pivot balls and locking nuts.

Yeah I have the 8mm studs....I tried using the stock pivot ball and nuts to no succuss the rocker arm wiggled and the nut was all the way tight. For some reason I can't find the locking nuts that came with the rockers...I'm sure you could get some from the autoparts store....

Yeah, you would need to remove some studs from the iron heads and mount them in the aluminum ones, IIRC thay have the same sized tap in the heads. I have an extra set if someone wanted to use them so these will work on their aluminum heads (non-full roller).

                      WASHERS!!!!

Bought the same rollers for my 3.1 gen 2. Just put a simple washer over the ball and il will fit nicely. Those will not fit gen3 because they already are roller and 1.6 i think.

How does a washer help the fact that the studs are too small for the ball/nut?

                          Try it!!

Had the same problem with those rockers on a 3.1 Gen 2 with Aluminium head.

You screw the bolts tight and the rocker is still loose because the nuts is not going far enough on the stud.Even with the nuts and ball pivots they supply.

Just use the new ball pivot and old nut. Put a washer over the ball pivot and try it.. It has work with mine...

you don t have to believe me but my car is running!!!

I did the same thing, it worked. I told people this and they acted like I was a mutant so I have stopped telling people the easy fix and let them go about using iron head studs and whatever other BS.

Why not just get gen1 studs?
