  • Rear mounted turbo?

I was just wondering if any1 around the 60* community has ever done a turbo setup but with the turbo at the rear of the car. I have seen this done with T/As and HHRs. I read somwhere that it only takes around a day or two to install if you have all of the needed parts. I was just wondering if this is even practical, so thanks.

    Kyle

P.S. What kind of boost could you run with a rear mounted turbo?

it has been discussed here before a bunch, have a look through the boost forum. 89jyturbo (i think thats his name) has a 2nd gen cavy with a 3400 swap (stock motor) remote mount turbo and alcohol injection and it ran a 12.4.

the potential is there. many people do not beleive in it, but it does work, and has been proven to work.

He got it dynoed recently also. 328HP/352TQ To the wheels. That is on stock internals. He is building another engine with 9:1 Forged Pistons. That'll allow for much more boost.
