I guess it depends on your definition of "high boost".
A 2 BAR MAP sensor will only read up to 14.7 PSIG. Some would call that high, while others such as myself do not.
BTW a 2 BAR+ MAP sensor is not nessisary, which is what I think syn was getting at. I have ran a few turbo and supercharged vehicles utilizing a 1 BAR MAP. There is just now ignition or fuel trim/enrichment in proportion to boost pressure.

Actually, your post does sound confusing. It almost makes it sound as the 2-bar is what you want for high boost and the 1 bar is fine as long as you're running low boost. I too considered it wrong by looking at it.
Besides. I dont consider 15psi to be high boost. If you max out a 3-bar sensor (~29psi) then i'm sure that'll qualify as high.97 Cavalier RS

well i guess it depends on what your doing for fuel/spark that would depend on the map, if you use a rrfpr and ect and really no spark control you can keep the 1 bar map. but what i was saying is if the computer is going to be able to read boost you'll need a 2bar.
i actually read the post and didn't jump to a conclusion

Care to explain the logic in that? How does the displacement of the engine have any effect on what is considered high and low boost?
