If you were to use TWO of them then no not too small. But to use one, Yes waaaay to small.

Um, v6ho, 2 t3's? Are you smoking crack again? 1 properly sized t3 is good for around 25lbs of boost. I know because I had a turbo cougar with a t3 and I wired the wastegate shut (full boost) and streetraced a supposedly built integra. He pulled a half car length holeshot as I overcame the turbo lag. After that,,, sshhheeezzz his vision was blocked by my taillights. After 1320 I pulled 3 car lengths on him. Of course, I was shifting @ 7700rpm (yes, almost 8k on a stock ford 2.3t) and only shifted then because my "Check Turbo" light came on!!!
Now back to the subject. I think the 1g dsm's (eclispe's) had t25 or 16g turbo's (cant remember for certain right now) and they spool quickly but really run out of steam before they should. They are good for like 7-10lbs of boost. Next problem, finding either the t3, t25 or 16g thats actually usable for $50. Most likely not going to happen (unless you got connections or are DAMN lucky). T3's are real reliable and usually dont show up used for less than $150. The other 2, well they blow up easily and when they do, the owners sell them blown to recoupe a little on their new turbo upgrade. So are we out of options? Hell no!! Best bet is to find an IHI turbo from a '87-88 turbocoupe thunderbird. They are fairly stout turbo's and can be bought with service life still left in them when the owner wants to upgrade to a t3 for cheap. Also, they spool nicely and are good for about 14-15lbs of boost. Now, no matter which turbo you end up going with, I would recommend getting a 1g dsm BOV. If you dont know what this is pm me.
        Now
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

          X11 STE....

I'd like to point out that 15 lbs of gauge boost (PSIG) is no the same as 15 PSIG on another engine, especially when we are comparing the 2.3 Ford and GM 660. PSIG is just a measurment of restriction.

Yes, the T3 was a decent match for the 2.3, but is quite choking on the 660, above about 6 PSIG (With a 260-2 cam and home made headers). I used one a 60 trim, from a T-coupe and worked well up to about 7 PSIG and about 5200 RPM, above either of those it was too small.

Two of those 60 Trim T3s would be good for about 10 PSI, with minimal heating of the intake charge, and be with in the efficiancy maps for the flow required and pressure ratio.

im probably gonn ago with a turboxs RFL bov....i know a 1g dsm bov is made of steel and once u crush it can handle a lot of psi etc...but

im thinking of goin with a t3/t4 hybrid.

            andyes the 5spd 1g dsm's came with a 14b, which on a 2.0 4cyl was good to i think 14lbs...

$50? If you don't have the $$$ for a porperly sized and condition turbo...I don't see you getting anything else done. If you do get lucky...search the J/Y for turbos from ford 2.3s and old buicks. They can be rebuilt for a song and upgrated fairly cheap latter on. The flow rate of a stock ford 2.3l T3 .60 is about 320hp in a good day. 290hp in a bad day. The one with the .63 turbine housing is the one you want. Buicks came with a .83 housing.

You have to check the turbo compressor maps and match the cfm and boost to the demands of the engine at the given rpms to get the proper boost numbers. You can get a turbo or supercharger that gives 25 lb of boost but if it only supplies 500 cfm and you stick it on an engine that needs 800 cfm you will get some boost but again it is relative to the cfm input versus the cfm consumption of the engine at the said rpm.
