  • N2O kit for the 3.4 DOHC?

I was wondering, is there a nitrous kit made that would be a direct bolt on for the 3.4 DOHC? I would like a wet kit made by either NOS or NX. Thanks.

Wet kits are fairly generic... Don't they jsut take a nozzle and spray in fuel and nitrous at the TB or right after it?

Dry kits are the harder ones. There aren't any. You'd have to find some other way to get your ECM to squirt the extra juice, and even then your injectors are almost maxed out stock.

I bet two things... One, it's for the Iron Head 3.4 pushrod.
          Two: It's for OBD-II cars only 1996+.

            And that matters, why?

I'd really like to know how the diagnostic software used in the PCM effects how Nitrous will be used on the engine.

I just looked up the kit in the NOS catalog, and it's a dry kit listed for "1994-present 3.4L, 3.8L V6".

Personally I would never go with any dry kit, a wet kit is the way to go if you want to be safe. Check out Nitrous Express. They have really nice kits. http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Pages/GMStage1.htm

The dry kit from Nitrous Oxide Systems increases the fuel pressure by increased vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator- it's safe.

The dry kit also prevents pooling of fuel in the intake.

I'm going with this kit. If it blows my engine I'll report it here.

Yea let us know how it goes...I think I'll be trying the NX kit later this summer on an engine I'm just starting to rebuild now.

Zex makes a good dry kit. i was going to get it A LONG time ago but my car got wrecked so i waited. Now turboing it. If you run a small shot dry you should be fine. wet kit is ideal but either way works.

Now how is that going to increase the the flow of the injectors? The injector flow is controled by the PCM.

More pressure causes more fuel to pass threw the injector. Just like a Vortec FMU under boost.

QUOTE] you do know that virtually every fuel injected cars FPR decreaces fuel pressure as you increase vaccum do counteract the effect of the fuel being "sucked" out of the injector to manitain a constant pressure. so increasing vaccum will lean you out and ull be buying a motor. dry kits are terrible on only work on a limited group of vehicles. Rule of thumb : you want ur nitrous like ur pussy...wet. honestly if ur gonna buy a dry kit take the money and wipe ur ass with it ull save ur motor. not puttuing anyone down here but i have installed around 30 kits and i will never touch a dry kit as i do not wanna be liable for some one losing a motor. if you want a nice clean install id say ZEX every thing is integrated into now box makes life so much easyer.
