  • Which Nitrious Kit is the Safest? POLL

Here is the NX kit. Comes with a Stage 1 Nitrious Kit with a Safety Upgrade all in 1 package. Price is $600

    OPTION #1 NX

Now don't get confused here. This link just gives more information about the safety kit in the first link. This is the safety kit alone. Just gives more info about it.

Here is the Zex kit. Talks a bit about safety. And runs for about the same price as the Nx kit. People tend to like Zex more.

    OPTION #2 ZEX

If you think there is a much safer kit available that is a WET kit. Please post here.

i personaly would get the zex kit, but i would get a wet kit, not a dry kit. the wet kit has a lot more potential.

I wasn't able to tell if the zex kit was wet or dry. I didn't see it anywhere.

There's a thread on nitrous, they seem to bash zex pretty hard over there. I personally have no nitrous experience so no comment, just saw this thread and thought of the one I posted.

I will NEVER use a ZEX kit, ever! I have seen so many fail, and so many people were/are disapointed with the results. ZEX has taken something so simple and made it complex, by adding more electronics to it that are not nessisary.

i have seen a lot of guys run zex kits with no problems whatsoever. i realy like the fact that you dont need to fab up a bracket for a microswitch, as well as everything is in a little box, and there isnt a ton of messy wiring and plumbing. there also isnt that much electronic inside the box, basicly all the electronics do is trigger is when it sees WOT. also for people only wanting a dry kit, it gives SOME fuel enrichment (you have your maifold vaccume go to the box, it goes through a jet, deceases the vacume then goes to the fuel regulator, increasing fuel pressure), and it is the only kit that does that.

personaly though, i will likly figure out my own nitrous kit when the time comes, simply because i have access to nitrous and fuel solonoids for dirt cheap, and i can get a 15lb bottle for dirt cheap from a friend, so its cheaper to build than buy a zex kit. however, if i didnt have access to these parts, id be buying a zex wet kit.

You might want to look at a few more kits before you say that the ZEX kit is the only one to enrich the fuel. NOS has since they introduced the dry kit.

I don't trust the ZEX kit, because I have seen TPS sensors fail and make the car (and ZEX kit) think it is at WOT when it is not. All it takes is teh ground wire (On GMs) to corrode and disconnect or get broken some how.

The Throttle mounted micro switch is pretty much failsafe, as long as it is attached securley.

it comes down to the thing that it says in the instructions for all nitrous systems "make sure your vehicle is in perfect operating condition before installing". and even if you have a tps fail, what are the odds that the system is going to be armed and the tps is going to fail??? very very low.

Is there anything else I can to be SAFE. To prevent detination. And does my motor's compression have anything to do with nitrous like boost does.
