  • Headers into a turbo?!?

In about 2 weeks im putting my car in storage to start the turbo build. I think I remember reading somewhere that having some headers flow into a turbo wont help much. But I cant remember where i read that. Anyone know here if there will be a good benefit in building a set of custom headers for a turbo set up?

equal length primaries before the turbo will help some due to the turbo constantly having an exhaust pulse, the car should build boost a little smoother

however making a set of equal length headers is a bitch compared to making a log style manifold

I would use a turbo header.
For me I have a RWD V6 and useing the stock exhaust manifolds on TT's would not be good.
The headers might be a little heavier but will be worth it.
If you have a low out put set up then stock manifolds vs. header wouldn't be a huge debate.
With a DOHC engine I think you will have more room to work with so you can do what ever you want.
An all power setup and you will want free flowing headers.
