I've been seriously thinking about putting a turbo on my car when I finish school. I have a 1995 Grand Prix with the 3100. I planned on keeping that engine and just completely rebuilding it. I don't know that much about turbos and wanted to know which one would be best for me. I was thinking about a T3/T4 hybrid, but really have no idea which one or what size. So if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Also, what would be a good compression rate for a turbo'd 3100? This would be my daily driver so I would want to keep it on the safe side, but still make some good power.
I was thinking about running between 8-12 psi, depending on driving conditions. I would try to have an intercooler as well. As far as spooling, I thought around 2,500 rpms would be good, since it doesn't shift past 5,500 rpms. But if someone has a better idea, feel free to let me know. Like I said, I don't know that much about turbos. I know that this may sound a little extreme, but in the end I would like to have around 300hp to the wheels with all of the mods. Does anybody think that this is possible, especially with a built bottem end and the proper supporting mods and tuning? Thanks for any help and sorry about the long post.
