Do they have different versions of the CT-26? (maybe i'm thinking of the one from the 3S-GTE).. i heard they were not the best in producing the boost..
Depends...they really cannot handle consistent moderate to high boost due to their ceramic compressor wheel...they basically tend to shatter!!

The ceramic turbine wheel is a J-Spec thing as far as i know, mine has a steel wheel.

There are various versions of the CT-26. There is the Supra one which is a single 2.5" inlet and 4 bolt downpipe flange. I believe this is the largest and oldest of the turbo's, it originally came on a 3.0L DOHC and boosted to 12psi if i remember right. Then there is the other version, split inlet and a 6 bolt downpipe flange, this was orininally on a 4cyl motor.

From what i have found the Supra CT-26 is roughly equilivent to a mid sized Garret T3. They can be upgraded to support around 600hp but for the cost you might as well use a Garrett turbo.

... and that 4-cyl motor would be the 3S-GTE The one you have came from a 7M-GTE

ah, ok. You are right, the 4cyl one would probably be too small for a v6.

www.brian89gp.com they are in there somewhere

And I have a 3.4 DOHC so all I had to do is flip over a front manifold and put it on the rear, impossible to do on the pushrod motors.

the supra turbo ct-26 is what i used the car has now been sold but it ran great boost was awesome trans went out though. i guess no one apprecieates the work that went in 2 this car the gm community has not responded very well 2 this and people here are basically calling me a liar. this was my daily driver my other car is a porsche 944 turbo with tons of mods and my baby is my galant vr4. i am now working on a 96 gtp i am goeing 2 turbo it with the same ct-26.if any one has any input get at me.

if u spend youre time thinking that a 15.2 is fast then something is wrong with youre thinking, that sucks royal ass. it is a sad thing 2 think people are hopeing 2 run 15s 14s or even 13s. gm sucks from a engineering standpoint, i know where there is street driven eclipses running 8s from 2 liters of displacement. all i have 2 say is 2 valve pushrod technology was cool 60 years ago.

Yeah, a 15.2 is not exactly fast. I've run a 14.6 in my TGP on 11psi with basically no other mods, and that's a 3,390 lbs car without me in it.

If you think that GM cars has no engineering in them, have you ever even looked at an eclipse. 4G63s are a horrible engines to actually work on and I have seen way too many unmodded ones blow-up none-the-less modded ones. I prefer the SR20DET over the 4G63, it's a much better design in my opinion and it has a timing chain over the crappy timing belt. I helped my friend put a U13 DET into his '91 sentra se-r a couple years ago. He runs a 13.6 @106 on only 7.5 psi and that's on a T-25!!!

People are calling Bullshit on you because you never produced any pictures of the work. You have all the money own those nice cars, and to do all this turbo work, but you can't buy a simple $100 digital camera to take pictures and SHARE with us what you have done? Makes no sense to me.

what are you smoking. you guys all need to go back to school. i would take the 4g63 over the sr20det anyday. if you dont believe me about the 8 second talon go to shepracing.com and look at that daily driver. you all just need to go import and leave the pushrod technology along. i have a race for you guys, your fully modded V6 against my moped. I work at a GM dealership and I work your shit all day long.

I feel bad for GM customers that have assholes like you working on their car.
