    1st Mock-up Complete!

Got in some test drives today, after much test fitting for the belt system.

Hit 8 psi with the stock TB and MAF, and the cheap CAI tubing. Leaving a lot on the table, there, lol
The exhaust is 3 inch, CAT+ Muffler.

No, I didn't notch out the hood brace like I said to, and yes it did knock a little paint off the blower case, But it worked!
As expected, the 90 degree silicone coupler collapses under vacuum, so it needs reinforcement. So now I can refine the prototype parts as I go along, upgrade the TB, etc., and we'll see how everything holds up with some abuse.

Curious... What mg/sec did you hit, or hertz on the MAF sensor at that peak boost level?

                MAF: 9751 hz, 28.96 lb/min

That's after several runs, parked, hot-soaked, etc. and with the aforementioned stock TB and small intake tubing. It would do better from a cold start, but that's just the first day, lot of tweaking to do.

With the MP62 now on my other Alero, It peaks at 10k and 31 lb/min, with a 68mm TB and much better intake plumbing. 2.2 pulley, about the same boost level, maybe a bit higher, 0.80 g/cyl

Think the MP 90 is the one that went on the Cobalt SS/SC

It's different than an M90 I believe... (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

This is very exciting for me

I thought the M62 went on the Cobalt. That M90 looks a bit big for a 4 cylinder.

I can guarantee you the 90 was not on a cobalt.... They advertise it as a 3.0 to 5.0L engine SC.

Went back and readjusted the pulley alignment, stepped up to a 65 mm TB, added support inside the coupler. Today was much cooler weather, good air. Let the car warm up, did about a 40 minute drive.

The tranny is a new rebuild, but quality still unknown. The engine has 96,000 miles, and I would say, more of that at WOT than 99.9 % of the other cars on the road.

Today boost peaked at 10 psi, but the MAF reading increased only slightly, 9800 hz, 29 lb/min, approx. There is a lot of KR in the scans, but I still have 87 octane in the tank, trying to use that up, and still need to redo the filter tubing. Might be able to mount the TB so the cable bracket is toward the engine, which may leave room for an intercooler in there.

Do you think your meth injection will help the KR after you go to high test gas ? Meth injection ?

Interesting build. Be curious to see your results when all done.

not that anyone asked for it, but Methanol injection will help the detonation of this engine on both low and high octane fuel.

I presume we're talking water/methanol mixture not just straight methanol?

How does the seat of the pants feel with the boost?
