  • Question : Iron 3.4 TBI -- Turbo?

    Hi guys.

I havent talked much on here since I got my 86 S10 Crate Iron 3.4 TBI on the road... and now I would like to start gathering info and parts for a turbo system that I will be building in exactly 6 months form now.

    What is the drivetrain??
    -GM Crate iron 3.4
    -H260-2 cam
    -Bored 2 bbl TBI intake
    -400 cfm Holley TBI
    -2 45lb injectors
    -FP = 13 psi
    -Headers
    -MSD ignition
    -Rebuilt T5 tranny

    What is planned??
    -E-fan (this week)
    -polish/port (flow benched)
    -1.6 Roller Rockers

What I want to do 6 months form now??
    **Forced air!!
    **16197427 ECM with $0D 4.3 TBI tune

Now with my current research I have found out that I can run 6-7 psi on the stock crate pistons and valvetrain.
    * first question... which turbo and from which vehicle will give me 6-7 psi at 5500 rpm on my iron motor??

I have instructions on how to boost fuel pressure from 13 psi to about 24 psi under boost conditions with a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator.

I read that I need a Bar 2 MAP sensor.
    * How do I make the 7427 ECM recognize this?

I have access to a MIG welder so piping and fabing is not going to be an issue.

My motor runs 9.0:1 and I already run 91 octane just because.
    * Will the timing need to be retarted at all?

*Last question for now, how many HP do you figure I will be creating at the wheels?
Working...
