Help me boost my 3400

I have finally decided to go with boost on my engine build rather then NA/hybrid. I was hoping to get some help from other more experienced members.
My plan is to build a mildly boosted, low cost 3400, mostly stock, with a max of 275-300whp. My 3400 is in my 86 Fiero running off a tuned 7730 ecm.
I am hoping people can help me select the right turbo for the application. I am thinking the to4e but I'm not sure.

Stock 3400 bottom end
Stock heads (should I do valve springs?)
65mm LX5 Tb
Intercooled
3100 rear manifold and custom crossover (wastegate attached to old downpipe flange like the 3800 cartunning kit)
2 bar map sensor form tgp
I was thinking of using the tgp chip to get it running and tune off of it, unless someone is willing to share a better tune.

I was hoping to get impressions/opinions from people actually running turbo 3400's. Calculations are fine and dandy, real world experience is what I'm after.

neither are very high into the peak island, but that's due to not a lot of pressure....

what are the VE numbers you're using? and what's your target HP range?

depending on how much boost you want to run, this may be your best bet....

I also noticed that the GT3582R is water cooled. In all the 3400 turbo setups I've seen, none seem to be useing water cooling. Do people just leave them unhooked or would I need to get a turbo without water cooling if I didn't want to run it? HOw difficult would it be to setup the water cooling?

water cooling is done through the center housing, which is interchangeable, but if possible, i would opt for it.

I am looking at running lower boost and HP target then that. I was thinking 6-8 psi. I am also higher altitude, about +1000 feet. Here's what I had, let me know if I am off.

copy the BSFC, RPM and VE points from the one i made, they're a lot more realistic for a stock 3400 than the ones the calc defaults to.

The GT2860R in the above link is an internal wastegate turbo. Is there a reason why noone seems to use internal wastegates when they turbo these engines? I know they are not as good for adjusting boost, but in my cse that might be a good thing. It will prevent me from getting greedy and damageing something.

wastegate control is part of the turbine housing, which the calculators have no control of, nor care of, since they don't effect the compressor at all.

i like externals due to ease of changing stuff, especially if it should fail.
