i was thinking about using a oil filter sandwich for turbo oil feed. good idea or bad idea?

IIRC its 1/4" NPT (national pipe thread)... atleast it was on mine.. you could buy a oil pressure sensor, take it to a tubes and hose store and get the right fitting and return the sensor.

My opinion FWIW (based on nothing to do with a turbo since I don't have a turbo on my car) would be a sandwich would probably have an easier time to leak, maybe. It would also be more expensive than a "T" fitting, unless you have the sandwich already and can't return it.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Im sure it will work just fine... Its more then you need in order to make things work but I don't see why it would cause any problems.... Like P-Rocket said, more possability of leaks but not hard to fix.Shane "RedZMonte"

Yay, my first post!! I just want to warn against using an oil filter gasket/o-ring on the sandwich adapter. At least on the stock sandwich type oil cooler (I know it's not exactly the same thing) in my IROC-Z, the sandwich o-ring needed to be shorter and stiffer than the oil filter gasket. I tried an oil filter gasket to replace the stock 336,000 km one and it worked great - for about 10 minutes. Once it got all warm and soft, the oil pressure pushed the top edge of the o-ring out and, man, was it ever a gusher! The oil spray actually dug a hole in the sand and gravel under the car and spewed out a couple of litres before I noticed what was up. The problem was that the lip on the sandwich adapter was significantly shorter than on the oil filter so the o-ring had less support. I ended up ordering the genny GM gasket from Eckler's and life was good. Until I sold the Camaro Anyways, that's my way of saying hello from up North94 Cavalier RS
